Indian Institute of Technology, a name which around every science student wants to tag his name with. More than 1 million students write IIT JEE but the number of seats is only 11000. That means 1 out of every 10 students is going to get a seat in IIT.

But then there are desires of obtaining Computer Science, Electronics & Communications, and Aeronautical engineering which put more pressure on the student attempting the exam.

Jadavpur University

Arundhati Bhattacharya (Ex- SBI CEO), Rituparno Ghosh, Parambrata Chatterjee (Kahani fame) have been the alumni of this reputed university of West Bengal.

It was ranked 84th among the 200 best Asian universities in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2016

Vellore Institute of Technology

VIT was ranked 5th in engineering colleges in 2017 and 9th by Outlook India in 2018. It has several campuses but the main one is located in Vellore. Do you know a cool thing about VIT? Its campus is divided into north and south part by the Chennai-Bangalore railway line.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology

TIET has around 250 acres of campus in the heart of Patiala. It provides the Bachelor of Engineering as well as Masters of Engineering program to the aspiring technocrats. It was ranked 10th by India Today and 19th by Outlook India in 2017.

Notable alumni of this institute is Anoop Kumar Mittal who is the chairman of National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited.

You must have heard about Shiv Nadar. No?

Shiv Nadar is an Indian Billionaire who founded HCL technologies back in 1970s. The reason I am telling you about Shiv Nadar is he is an alumni of PSG college of Technology located in Coimbatore.

The strength of PSG is around 8500 students and you can pursue engineering in any of the 15 different engineering and technology streams.

SASTRA

Sastra university is located in Thanjavur ,Tamil Nadu and is considered as one of the best universities of India. Like the students who have studied there say if you really want to be a good engineer then you should study in Sastra as the discipline inside the university will surely hone the skills of an engineer inside you.

It is also said that one who studies in Sastra automatically gets a job in TCS but if your CGPA is above 8.0 then you can also easily secure a job in big companies like Ashok Leyland, Ebay etc.

SSN college of Engineering

Sri SivaSubramaniya Nadar College of engineering was started by Shiv Nadar in 1996. Shiv Nadar is the founder of HCL technologies.

SSN college of Engineering was ranked 36 in India by NIRF in 2018. It was ranked 24 in the list of 100 engineering colleges by Outlook India in 2017.

Ravichandran Ashwin is an alumni of SSN College of engineering. Entrance exam – 12th class marks and SSN management quota entrance test

Thiagarajar College of Engineering

TCE is located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. It was ranked 39 by NIRF in 2018 and 31 by Outlook India in 2017.

Delhi Technological University

Ranked 14 by Outlook India in 2017, DTU is one of the oldest engineering colleges of India and the first college of Delhi founded in 1941.

It is an excellent Tier-1 institution because companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, & Google recruit students from here.

COEP was one of the first engineering colleges established by the British in the Indian subcontinent. COEP was ranked 10th by Outlook India in 2017 and 45 by NIRF in 2018

SRM institute is located in the outskirts of Chennai on the route to Pondicherry. The campus is huge with students coming from all over the country to study here. SRM institute of Science and Technology was ranked 8th by India Today in 2017 and 46 by NIRF in 2018.

KL University College of Engineering

Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation (KLEF) is located in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The college is spread on a 100 acre land and is located about 8 kilometers from Vijaywada.

KL University College of Engineering was ranked in 83 by NIRF in 2018.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology

KIIT university is a deemed university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. KIIT has been ranked 65 by NIRF in 2018. Around top 100 companies visited KIIT in 2017 which rolled out 2800 job offers with highest salary as much as Rs 26.80 Lakh
